Folder Media is today celebrating the award of a DAB Digital Radio multiplex licences to its MuxCo subsidiary and the appointment of a new Operations Manager.
Earlier today Ofcom announced that it was awarding the DAB digital multiplex licence for North Yorkshire to MuxCo North Yorkshire Ltd, a joint venture between Folder Media’s MuxCo Ltd and The Local Radio Company plc (TLRC). The multiplex is the first TLRC has been involved with and will ensure that its radio stations Minster FM, Stray FM and Yorkshire Coast Radio will be available on DAB Digital Radio. The multiplex is set to launch by June 2009.
Folder Media is also announcing today that it has appointed Nicky Tate as Operations Manager. Nicky is leaving GCap Media, where she was the Multiplex Manager for their digital multiplex network – NOWdigital, to join Folder Media.
Gregory Watson, Folder Media’s Managing Director, commented “Nicky is the UK’s most experienced multiplex manager and we are delighted she is joining Folder Media to mastermind the launch of MuxCo’s multiplexes. She will also play a central role as Folder Media continues to deliver more services to our radio clients.”
